At the intersection of economics, politics, and business studies, this peer-reviewed journal is committed to encouraging high-quality research and promoting excellence in the understanding of African political economy. Published quarterly since 1974, it provides a radical analysis of trends and issues in Africa. It pays particular attention to the political economy of inequality, exploitation, and oppression, whether caused by global or local forces (such as class, race, community, and gender), as well as materialist interpretations of change in Africa. It maintains a critical analysis of the nature of power and the state in Africa.
