Free film screening and discussion open to the general public
Come and see the screening of the film “Tidinit – Une passion musicale saharienne” (Sébastien Boulay and Emile Rivet, 26 min) ! Following the story of Mahfoudh Ethmane, a young self-taught musician from the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf (southwestern Algeria), and his planned trip to the land of Mauritanian griots, the film invites viewers to discover Western Saharan music and its many contemporary influences. More than just a portrait, the documentary also offers a fresh perspective on West African migration, focusing on the human experience of travel and the regional circulation of artists, music, and knowledge. This event is a genuine invitation to explore the power of music as a vehicle for memory, transmission, and encounter.
