Link to the report : https://www.clionautes.org/geopolitique-du-sahara.html
A neverending Western Sahara conflict, the stalemate of wars in Lybia and Mali, coups… The Sahara region is going through a time of intense political and security unrest, as the exploitation of natural ressources remains a financial windfall for many local, national and international stakeholders. How can we decipher the overlapping of economic conflicts and stakes on different scales, in order to make more sense out of the complexity of this strategic area located at the gates of Europe ?
The speakers are André BOURGEOT (Anthropologist), Virginie COLLOMBIER (Political Specialist) et Meriem NAILI (Jurist in International Law). The round-table is hosted by Julien BRACHET, Scientifique director of the 2022 edition of the Festival.
